Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions about operation, maintenance, and best practices.

Where do evaporative coolers work best?

They are most effective in open or semi-open areas with good air exchange, such as warehouses, loading bays, outdoor tents, gyms, and shops. For indoor use, opening a window or door is recommended to prevent humidity buildup.

How do I choose between a model with or without louvers?

Choose a model with auto-oscillating louvers to sweep the airstream back and forth, which is ideal for covering large areas uniformly. For a focused, long-throw airflow, choose a non-louvered model.

What power supply is required?

Most of our models run on standard 110–115V single-phase power. Our highest-airflow models require 220–230V. Please see the specific model specs for exact requirements.

How can I determine the right size unit for my space?

Our online calculator is the best tool for this (see below FAQ section). It allows you to enter your space dimensions and power availability to get an instant recommendation based on the required airflow (CFM).

What should I do if my cooler isn't as effective as it used to be?

First, ensure the water reservoir is full and the pump is on. Second, check that the cooling pads are clean and fully saturated with water. Finally, confirm there is adequate fresh air ventilation, as this is crucial for the evaporative process.

What is the recommended maintenance for the cooling pads?

For optimal performance, inspect the pads monthly. Clean them every 3-6 months by gently rinsing with a low-pressure hose to remove dust and buildup. Avoid using high pressure, as it can damage the pads.

How should I prepare my cooler for off-season storage?

Drain all water from the reservoir completely. Then, run the fan (with the pump off) for at least 30 minutes to thoroughly dry the cooling pads. Once clean and dry, store it in a covered location to protect it from dust.
